The signal is definitely better at most hotels and with a particular municipal system I access. We are traveling in our RV and get free Wi Fi at many RV parks and Campgrounds but sometimes the signal can be weak, this works great to pull in a stronger signal!

After updating to maverick operating system there is a error message that the eng wifi booster consumes to much power and temporarily disables usb port until you unplug it. Please try again later. Maverick is advanced and not compatible with this eng divice,i confirmed this with apple and engenious tech support. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that the software has failed 2 times and both times it required a restart to get it back on line. We are very happy with ours.
